Second Question of the Day December 17, 2014 How many veterinary compounding pharmacies are doing the same thing as alleged in NECC: that is making up pet names for pets that don't exist to get around patient specific requirements?
And reading the indictment and allegations, I worry that many more pharmacies, now with hired sales staff, may be making similar representations in the marketing of specific products. When compounding was a service, it was generally a good service. But now that compounding involves drug sales, bad goods can and will be promoted as good goods. The moral/ethical and legal risks of promoting known bad goods as good goods are now crystal clear.
