Animal Drug Industry, Frustrated With FDA, Raises Alarm On Compounding

The Animal Health Institute, spurred in part by what it views as FDA's lack of enforcement, calls for the agency to be more aggressive in curbing bulk compounded drugs that mimic approved products. Animal drug compounding was left out of a recent law clarifying FDA's authority and the recent request follows an FDA meeting with stakeholders this month where industry complained the agency was not adequately overseeing compounded animal drugs.
