Fourth Question of the Day May 28, 2014 Some states are considering passing laws that mirror the DQSA and require compounding pharmacies who do not do patient-specific compounds to register as outsourcing facilities? If state laws, unlike the federal law, make registration mandatory and require a fee be paid to register, would this further patient safety and be a way to increase revenue for states to inspect all compounding pharmacies? Why or why not? Does it make sense for states to pass such laws? Should there be a uniform state compounding law that all states pass? Wouldn't this make it easier for compounding pharmacies to comply with the laws in all states?
