GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Three pharmacists have had their licenses suspended following federal criminal convictions in a drug reselling scheme at Kentwood Pharmacy.
The three former employees -- Thomas VerHage, James Orr and Eugene Biegert -- in November were convicted of causing drugs to be misbranded after shipment in interstate commerce.
The government said the three took part in a scheme to repackage and sell drugs that had been returned from hundreds of adult foster or nursing homes. Nearly 20 percent of drugs sold by Kentwood Pharmacy had been repackaged, the government said.

Prosecutors said the employees didn't reap financial gains from the plot, but they maintained their employment.
