HAPPY Trail's trainer Paul Beshara will resume training in May next year after his appeal against the length of his six-month disqualification was dismissed by VCAT yesterday.
"That's it. I'll come back in May and that's when Happy Trails will also return to work,"
Beshara said.
Beshara said Happy Trails would again be set for the Cox Plate a race he finished second in this year.
Beshara was disqualified by the Racing And Appeals Disciplinary Board in October for six months after being found guilty of treating Happy Trails with an unknown illegal substance on the morning of the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley in September.
In a surprise before the VCAT hearing yesterday, Beshara's legal counsel Paul Horvath changed the plea from not guilty to guilty before the hearing.
Beshara had pleaded not guilty when the Racing And Appeals Disciplinary Board heard the case in October.
Horvath argued for a reduction in the penalty based on special consideration.
