Drug Quality and Security Act in public interest--It offers providers and patients better information about compounded drugs by directing FDA to make a list of FDA-regulated outsourcing facilities available on FDA’s website, requiring detailed labeling on compounded drugs, and prohibiting false and misleading advertising.

The words were chilling: Deadly medical scandal. Fungal meningitis. Contaminated steroids. Rare brain infection. The mold exserohilum rostratum.
In August 2012 people were getting sick and reporting common symptoms. Then people started dying — especially in Tennessee and Michigan. The cause was a mystery. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention traced the outbreak to the New England Compounding Center in Massachusetts
