AVMA’s Congressional Advocacy Network (AVMA-CAN) will be at the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) in Orlando, Jan. 19-22, 2014. Stop by booth #312 in the Gaylord Palms Resort Convention Center to join our grassroots network and help make a difference for veterinary medicine.
AVMA’s Governmental Relations Division (GRD) staff will be there to talk with veterinarians about the association’s 113th Congress Legislative Agenda and encourage members to play a more active role in advocating for the profession. Members can sign up for the AVMA-CAN and send letters to their members of Congress on important issues such as ending the abusive practice of soring horses and allowing veterinarians to legally carry and dispense controlled substances to treat their patients outside of a clinic setting.
The next few months will be busy with visits to Las Vegas for the Western Veterinary Conference in February and SAVMA Symposium at Colorado State University in March.
If you are planning on attending any of these meetings, be sure to stop by the AVMA-CAN booth and take action!
