Sixth Question of the Day October 22, 2013 We are already starting to see more and more compounding pharmacies adding jobs, new failities, etc. in anticipation of the federal compounding legislation becoming law. What effect will this increased competition have on the safety of the compounded medications? Will it have the effect of lowering prices but increasing quality and standards in order to survive in the marketplace? Will it have the effect of increasing awareness where consumers of these compounded medications demand high quality and lower prices and possibly even that they receive FDA regulated goods thus forcing compounders who want to stay in business to register as outsourcing facilities?
