MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The employee in this classification seeks to ensure that
established standards and regulations are maintained for all Board licensed
pharmacies and wholesale distributorships (establishments). This is
accomplished through opening, annual and closing inspections, follow-up visits,
and inspections as requested in cooperation with Board investigations or joint
investigation with the Division of Drug Control, Food and Drug Administration,
Drug Enforcement Administration, or other state, local or federal government
agency. This position involves fieldwork* in which the employee is responsible
opening, annual and closing inspections and follow-up visits to pharmacy
establishments and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited
four-year college or university.
Experience: One (I) year pharmacy technician experience
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in
administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the
required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education
at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours
for each year of the required experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a registered pharmacy technician with Maryland Board of
Pharmacy and must have a minimum of one (1) year pharmacy technician experience
working in a pharmacy.
Unless 30 graduate semester credit hours are used
to substitute for the experience
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND
CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which
require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will
be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of
Maryland. An employee having a driver's license with six (6) or more
points for moving violations will not be able to operate a State vehicle.
