DEA has announced approved certifying organizations to enable e-prescribing of controlled substances
On August 1, 2012, the DEA announced that it has approved the certification processes for controlled substances e-prescribing systems that have been developed by Drummond Group and iBeta LLC, and that current approvals are posted on the DEA website. Approval of the certification process is the final regulatory step at the federal level to allow CSA e-prescribing, but please notes that some states have yet to modify their statutes to allow for e-prescribing, particularly of Schedule II drugs.
