On July 9, 2012, President Obama has signed Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act (FDASIA) into law. This legislation also changes the way the FDA runs inspections. The legislation makes it easier to inspect factories overseas – where most drugs are now made – and removes requirements that plants in the U.S. be inspected twice a year.
